World Kindness Day 2025

Hands up if you love that warm, fuzzy feeling? That’s the feeling of kindness, and on Thursday, November 13th, 2025 the whole world tunes in for World Kindness Day!
Here at Our Fashion Fix, we’re turning our good vibes into genuine good. This #knowyourstuffnov is all about smart, tangible action. A smile is great, but a warm coat or a hot meal makes a genuine difference.
The truth is, as the festive party season kicks off, some of the UK’s most vulnerable are facing a tough winter. Let’s make our acts of kindness count and show up for our community.
Time to put your fashion-forward mindset to work. Forget random acts; these are intentional acts of charity!
1. The Wardrobe Clear Out
Remember that chunky puffer coat you upgraded last year? It’s not a sentimental treasure; it's a life-saver waiting for its moment!
A great way to be kind this week is to declutter for good. Organisations like Wrap Up London take your pre-loved, warm winter coats and redistribute them to homeless people, refugees, and others in need across the UK. That’s one less thing cluttering your hall and one less person freezing this winter - a win-win for everyone! Whilst we love a Vinted sale – somethings are just a bit more important.
2. Power Up the Community
No one should go hungry or be left out in the cold. You can be the power source for essential services that are working overtime right now.
Food Banks: Grab a few extra tins next time you’re at the supermarket and drop them off at your local food bank. They provide emergency food and support to people in crisis.
Shelters: Charities like Crisis at Christmas organise centres to provide shelter, hot food, companionship, and even vital services like health checks for people experiencing homelessness during the holiday period. Think of it as powering up their most important weekend of the year.
3. Be a Secret Santa IRL
There is nothing sweeter than knowing you helped deliver a little bit of magic. The pressure on struggling families is huge, but you can help ensure every child gets a moment of pure joy.
Organisations like Action for Children run their Secret Santa Appeal to help vulnerable children across the UK have a safe and happy Christmas by providing gifts. Similarly, The Salvation Army runs massive Christmas appeals, providing both gifts and food to underprivileged children and families.
Or why not donate some hours! Volunteering is a great way to help, what’s more it's the perfect team-building day – build teams with heart. Look for opportunities in your local area. You could rally your workmates for a few hours at a FareShare warehouse sorting surplus food, or grab your bestie and help out at a Crisis at Christmas centre, providing company and support. It's an instant mood-booster, a great way to meet people, and honestly, the best kind of networking. Whether you go solo, make it a friend date, or turn it into the ultimate office bonding session, time is the most thoughtful gift you can give.
Don’t forget kindness starts at home – is there a lonely neighbour you could help with a chat & a cup of tea- or a few hours of your help, or a slice of cake? Remember, a little bit of kindness goes a long way.
